Possibly from Guido De Bernardi’s workshop

The bicycle has been linked to Italian framebuilder Guido De Bernardi, but no catalogue, frame number or contemporary record securely confirms it. The attribution remains probable rather than established.

The visible evidence is clearer: a lugged Italian road frame with external cables, down-tube friction shifters and chromed parts.

The drivetrain used the familiar parallelogram derailleur, double chainset and friction controls. There were no clicks: the rider moved a hand to the down tube and found the correct chain position.

The restoration retained the original components and paint. New pads and nearly new tyres made the bicycle usable without making it look new.
