Faggin
Aelle
An Italian steel frame in original net-pattern paint with Shimano 600, built as Japanese components became established on European racing bicycles.

Faggin in Padua
Frames built for the rider
Former rider Marcello Faggin founded the company in 1945. Its Padua workshop became known for made-to-measure geometry, balance and finish.
This is not a team bicycle. Its lugs, chromed stays, small maker details and preserved paint instead show the workshop character in a road bicycle.

Shimano 600
Italian frame, Japanese mechanics
The controls, derailleurs, brakes and headset belong to Shimano 600, positioned below Dura-Ace. Campagnolo had long been expected on Italian quality frames, but by 1986 Shimano offered a genuine alternative.
Columbus Aelle was a dependable straight-gauge tubeset rather than the maker’s lightest competition series. The original paint and ordinary traces of use remain part of the documentation.
