GIOS Torino
Super Record
A deep-blue Italian racer built with the details that made the Brooklyn team’s GIOS bicycles instantly recognisable.

GIOS and Brooklyn
A team gave the colour a name
Tolmino Gios founded the Turin company in 1948 after racing professionally and representing Italy at the 1936 Olympics. Its connection with Brooklyn began in 1973, linking the bright blue finish to the team’s stars and stripes.
Aldo Gios worked as team mechanic with Roger De Vlaeminck. When the Belgian won Paris–Roubaix in 1975, GIOS was already part of one of the decade’s strongest classics teams.
This bicycle is a tribute build, connecting the collection with that history without claiming a provenance it does not have.

Campagnolo
Super Record — but not only Super Record
The build includes an early Super Record rear derailleur, brakes, levers, chainset, pedals and headset. The front derailleur, shifters, hubs and seatpost are Record, while the bottom bracket is Nuovo Record.
That mixture reflects how Italian top bicycles were specified before complete groups were marketed as tightly as they later became. Record hubs meet Mavic Module E rims; Regina supplies chain and freewheel, with Cinelli and Galli contact points.

The frame
Dated to 1975
Marco Gios identified the Columbus SL frame as a 1975 Super Record. It was painted at GIOS in Turin, where the collection’s owner collected it from Marco and Aldo Gios.
Paris–Roubaix 1975
De Vlaeminck won for the third time. The blue bicycle became part of the image.
On 13 April 1975 he beat Eddy Merckx and André Dierickx. It was the third of his four victories and cemented the connection between Brooklyn, De Vlaeminck and GIOS.
